FM24 NOT A Beta Save - A Stade Rennais-Sance - Part 5

When we left the season at the half way point we were right in the mix at the top of the table. You can catch up here

Sitting in 4th with a 9 point buffer to 5th and qualifying for the Round fo 16 of the Europa League. It was a solid start and has given us a great base to really attack the second half of the season.

January Transfer Activity

There wasnt much movement in the window but we did do some fund raising and added strength in depth in the back three.

Firstly the departures

Both bit part players after our switch or tactics and squad improvement. £26 million into the club is vital to the finacial growth.

We didnt make many moves to bring players in with just the one player joining.

Nicolas Meriano joins from Belgrano for £4.2 million and he looks an absolute bargain!

Natural at wide centre back, he will offer rotational options for our back three to keep them fresh for the run in.

Take Over News

It was rumoured early in the pre season that there was intrersted parties looking to take us over. There were lots of tooing and frowing before we eventually got confirmation.

Will we get some serious financial investment?

Of course we didnt! Hopefully our new owners will see the project we have going here and change their mind later along the line.

January 2025

The start of the year is a nice light begining but Important as it includes the finally 2 Europa League league phase matches.

We were garunteed a playoff place but with 2 games left in the league phase we are favourites for finishing in the top 8 and qualifying for the round of 16.

Well we really pushed our luck with the final too League Phase games.

The defeat away from Valencia is excusable but the draw to Standard Liege really put doubt in our top 8 asperations.

By the skin of our teeth.

February 2025

We move into september with the focus returning to the league and our quest for a top 4 finish.

We need an almost perfect run in to make it as textbook as possible. Sounds easy right?

Wrong, its a winless month, the forst this season, just as we wanted to put the foot down. Losses to Marseille and PSG, although frustrating are understandable. the 4 dropped points against Clermont Foot and Nantes were unacceptable.

Improvments needed.

Draw for the Rnd of 16 was made in the Europa League.

For a second season in a row we head to Germany for Knockout European Football.

March 2025

We start with 4 games in the league and we need to see some fight back after an abysmal February.

We again suffered at the hands of one of our top 4 rivals as Monaco nicks the points. We then grab 7 points from 3 games to get back on track.

The next few months are very favourable fixtures after a tough run during February and March.

Now its time for the Round of 16 Europa League tie. We were knocked out by German opposition last year, will we break that streak this year.

We can not. Even with a win in Germany we conceede late in the home leg and then end up losing on penalties.

Its frustrating as i was keen to progress but now it is full steam ahead for the top 4.

Youth Intake

March means one thing, Youth Inatke month. Lets have a look at the latest crop of youngsters.

There appears to be some serious talent here, Lets have a look at the Elite players.

Aurelien Didler is the second 5* potential Goalkeeper we have produced this save after Andre Fitas last year.

Bodes well for the future of that position.

Antoine Lebreton is an exciting forward player who appears to be suitable to out wide or through the middle.

Good pace and good technicals im hoping to see some sharp improvement in him next season.

Enzo Vidal, Another attacking player with already good physical attributes as well as strong technicals.

Only time will tell to see if we can make him a forst team player.

April 2025

The second to last month of the season and we are still right in the mix for a top 4 spot. A good month here and we could really make our presence known.

Key match during April was at Home to Nice who have had a great season to be sitting in 2nd as its stands.

Its a really strong showing. Three home game wins with the key game being a thriller.

Kalimuedo grabbing all 4 goals in a 4-3 win over Nice. He has really come into his owb this season and has become a leading striker for us.

We had an interesting peice of news come through to our inbox.

Our very own Borza topping the 50 best wonderkids in football list for 2025.

Hell of an achievment and bravo to our scouting team for bringing him to our attention. Bought for £3.5 million he is now worth almost £85 million.

May 2025

So this is it, The final 3 games of the season. We need 4 points from the last three games to seal 4th and Champions League football.

Its as simple as this.....

A successfull campaign is complete with a top 4 finish. It was the bare minimum beeded for us to take the next step in this journey.

Final League Table

Confirmation of the finish and we did it by 9 points in the end.

Of course PSG run away with it again winning the league by 14 points and 21 points ahead of us. Weve got some work to do to bridge that gap!

Shout out to our man Kalimuendo who finishes second in the goal scorers table between the two lads from PSG.

A cracking effor from the lad.

That is season 2 completed! We have a Champions League squad to build. Hopefully with a bit of financial clout behind us but knowing us we will be scrouging for freebies and loans.

As always with teh end of season episodes we leave you with our season review. Make sure you check out Kalimuedo's stats for the season!

Cheers
