If I am being completely honest the playoffs were never in my thoughts this early into what is a long term project.
But after just three seasons we were in a fight for the last playoff place, even if we didn't want to believe it ourselves.
What followed was 6 games of the most typical turn of form usually seen when chasing something of importance.
After 1 defeat in 10 we suffered 2 in 6 with 4 draws. Taking only 4 point from a possible 18 killed any chance we had of catching 7th place.
It was a disappointing end to what was another strong showing in the league. However we finished in the highest league position in the clubs history, 9th Place.
In regards to the rest of the league. The top 2 were as expected with Bournemouth finishing as champions and West Brom runners up.
Southampton missed out on Automatic promotion by 1 point and were beaten in the play offs by Middlesbrough.
Gillingham, Bristol Rovers and Preston Slipped into League 1.
The Season Review
As you can see it was a fantastic season, punching way above our weight again.
This season should prove to be the breakthrough season and next season we are hoping to not be listed as relegation fodder but thought of as a top half team with dreams of the playoffs.
The serious work starts now.
