S6 EP3 - Wycombe Wanderers - The Journey Finally Restarts!

When we had left the Journey last time around we were sitting in 7th on the cusp of the European places. We were leaking goals at the back but our attack were firing on all cylinders to keep us unbeaten through September and October.

We will cover November and December which will include a League Cup Quarter Final. So lets get to it.

November 2025

A bit of admin from last month. Two members of our squad picked up the Player and Young player of the month for October with Bigongiari and Chorley receiving the honours.

Match 11 - QPR (H) 0-1

After going two months unbeaten we put in a disappointing home performance against QPR losing 1-0.

Match 12 - Manchester United (H) 2-2

A much better performance at home as we welcomed Man United. We fell behind after 10 minutes but a Clarke equalised quickly afterwards.

The game ebbed and flowed until the 60th minute when United's £125 million pound summer signing Esposito scored. But it was little Wycombe who had the last laugh with an 81st minute equaliser from substitute Vassi. 2-2 at FT and a strong performance against one of the big boys.

Match 13 - Everton (A) 1-0

Another strong performance this time away from home. We were defensively solid for the first time this season and kept Everton at arms length. Mich'el Chorley with our goal in the second half.

Match 14 - Tottenham (A) 2-3

We pushed Spurs right to the limit in this epic. A dodgy penalty in the first half gave them a first half lead.

Hebert brought us level before 2 late goals for Spurs put them 3-1 up and cruising. Bigongiari scored with the last kick if the game to put some respect on the result.

Mixed bag for November. The QPR game was disappointing. Delighted with the results against United and Everton. The Spurs game was frustrating more than anything. We got ourselves into a good position and just couldn't hold on.

December 2025

Match 15 - Norwich (H) 1-1

We started a busy December period with a home game against Norwich. An evenly matched affair with both teams unable to worry the scoreboard until Bigongiari broke the deadlock in the 75th minute. Norwich equalised soon after to deny us all three points.

Match 16 - Aston Villa (A) 2-1

In a game we were dominated in the first half and lucky to only be 1-0 down it was pleasing to see a rallying comeback. 1-0 down with 10 mins to go goals from Vassi and a stoppage time Contento finish secured all three points.

Match 17 - Burnley (H) 0-0

Another draw against teams in and around our level. Very disappointed not to register a shot on target but with a few rested for the upcoming Quarter Final it was to be expected.

EFL Cup Quarter Final - Newcastle United (H) 3-0

With the starting line-up rested after the weekend draw with Burnley to focus on this game it was important to get a fast start. Tomas Bigongiari was in on this plan and we were 1-0 up in the first minute after he latched onto a lovely long ball from Clarke and fire past the keeper.

It was 2-0 shortly after as Bigongiari collected the ball from Clarke again, evaded 3 defenders and placed the ball into the bottom corner. His hattrick was completed before half time with another tidy finish.

Newcastle had no response in the second half and we sealed our place in the Semi Final comfortably.

Match 18 - Brighton (H) 0-1

Another poor result against a team in and around us in the league. We played ok but couldn't break Brighton down to create any clear cut chances.

Match 19 - Watford (H) 4-3

In a game of the season so far contender we came out on top against a very capable Watford team. The star of the show was without a shadow of a doubt Bigongiari as he grabbed all four and his second hattrick in 3 games.

A better month with only the one defeat, However too many draws against teams we should be beating.

League Table

Still hovering around the top 7 at the halfway part of the season. 15 points from the relegation zone and 9 from the top 4 (Couldn't resist)

The semi Final for the League cup has been made with Ourselves, both Manchester clubs and Norwich. Easy to pick which team I would prefer.....

Nope, nope not them. Will be a monumental effort to make the final but we have upset Man United before on this save so anything is possible.

We also received our Youth Intake preview for the year.

Not a great deal to look forward to there but it is improving year on year.

As any long time readers of this journey will know, one of my long term objectives was to produce a player from the academy that would go on to represent his country and considering when we started we did not have an academy we are headed in the right direction.

Next Episode we will be headed into January with a jam packed schedule as well as the January transfer window.

See you next time.

Cheers

We also recently had our turn in a joint save with other FM creators called "The Far East Express. Please check out our three episodes with the link below. One hell of a journey going on in that save.

We also have an fascinating International save going as we attempt to take Jamaica to Gold Cup and World Cup glory after acquiring some new recruits who have been ignored repeatedly by England
