With our form yoyoing from month to month it was imperative that we ensured our survival before we get dragged right back onto the relegation picture.
We started the most important run of games this season at home to Sheffield United 2-0 down at half time and with it all to do. A solid second half performance with Onyedinma and Power dragging us back to 2-2.
The age old local derby up next with a short trip up the M4 to Reading. A 4-2 loss and no complaints. It proved to be our only defeat in February.
An entertaining 3-3 draw down at Bristol Rovers with 2 goals from Stansfield was one for the neutrals.
Back at Adams Park and we picked up 3 precious points against Birmingham in a 2-1 victory. Another 2-1 victory followed, this time on the road at Blackburn. Goals from Barry and Onyedinma sealed a unlikely victory.
This result put us on the right path and we went on to win again a few days later as Barry and Onyedinma again got on the scoresheet to secure the 2-0 victory over Millwall.
We move into March having won 3 on the bounce and this form continued onto our home game against Huddersfield. Barry yet again got on the scoresheet, this time from the penalty spot to make it 3 in 3 for him and Bowler secured the win in the second half. 2-0 and that is 4 wins in a row.
An away trip to Rotherham dealt us a blow as we suffer our first defeat in 5. 2-1 with Onyedinma getting our goal.
We go from celebrating back to back wins to suffering back to back defeats . This time away at Brentford. 2-0 and a stale performance all round.
We are such a Jekyll and Hyde team at times, we put an awful performance in at Brentford and then go a win at home to Middlesbrough. 1-0. A Joe Jacobson penalty the difference.
This run of results secured Championship football for another season as we break the magical 50 point barrier . Currently sitting in 13th place with 52 points.
Big things to come as we finish the season, we open the expanded stadium and we start our youth recruitment. Lets hope for some gems to come through.
